Rodrigo Vargas, Danny Ramirez Cleared for Combat

Combate
Americas
is set to make its long-awaited return to Mexico City
as Rodrigo
Vargas
and Danny
Ramirez
are slated to collide in a lightweight main event.
Combate
15
will take place Friday at Salas de Armas and will be
televised live on Azteca America at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

At Thursday’s weigh-ins, everybody on the card was cleared for
combat.

Vargas has been on a tear lately, having won four of his last five
bouts. The local fighter will have the crowd fully behind him as he
attempts to rebound from a too-close-to-call split decision loss to
Marco
Antonio Elpidio
in January at Combate 10. Ramirez, a former
U.S. Marine, is set to continue his winning ways. He’s coming off a
thrilling “fight of the night” win over Erik Gonzalez at Combate 11
in February. Both combatants came in identically at 156 pounds.
