UFC Moves Feb. 24 Card from Orlando to England, Books Darren Till vs. Stephen Thompson

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is giving rising welterweight
talent Darren Till
some star treatment.

During a Q&A in Santa Monica, Calif., on Tuesday, UFC President
Dana White revealed that the promotion would be moving its Feb. 24
event scheduled for Orlando to England. The primary reason for the
move: to book Till in a pivotal 170-pound matchup against Stephen
Thompson
.

Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times revealed the news via
Twitter on Tuesday night.

According to the promotion’s website, UFC Fight Night was scheduled
to take place at the Amway Center in Orlando and would be televised
on Fox. It is currently unknown to what city and venue in England
the card will be moved.

Till improved to 16-0-1 as a professional at UFC Fight Night 118 on
Oct. 21, when he scored a technical knockout over popular veteran
Donald
Cerrone
4:20 into the opening round of their headlining bout.
The 24-year-old Liverpool native has finished 10 of his triumphs by
knockout or technical knockout and two via submission.

Thompson is coming off a three-round verdict against Jorge
Masvidal
at UFC 217 this past Saturday. Prior to that,
“Wonderboy” battled Tyron
Woodley
to a majority draw in a title bout at UFC 205 before
falling to the welterweight champion via majority decision in a
rematch at UFC 209.
